THRM 302 is designed for students who desire to improve their understanding of restaurant management and basic various beverages and its culture. The course is a restaurant management course that provides students the unique opportunity to study operations and management of full-service restaurants. This course will also provide students with the basics of entrepreneurialism and how to put these learning objectives to work. In Restaurant Management, you’ll learn the responsibilities of managing a restaurant—from ordering supplies to hiring and firing employees. This course covers; managing bar, kitchen and wait staff; food safety and hygiene; food based allergies, customer relations; understanding point-of-sale (POS) system; scheduling employees; and dealing with difficult guests. In addition, the students will learn about the basics of mixology, spirits, beer, wine and coffee culture.
